Senior politician Mir Hasil Bizenjo passed away

National Party leader and senior politician Senator Mir Hasil Bizenjo passed away in Karachi.Hasil Bizenjo was suffering from lung cancer and was undergoing treatment at a hospital in Karachi.

National Party Central Secretary General Jan Muhammad Baledi confirmed the death of Senator Hasil Bizenjo at a private hospital in Karachi.

He said that Hasil Bizenjo was shifted to the hospital due to ill health where he could not recover.

Balochistan government spokesman Liaquat Shahwani took to Twitter to express deep sorrow and grief over the death of Mir Hasil Bizenjo and prayed for his forgiveness and patience to the bereaved.

Mir Hasil Bizenjo was the son of Mir Ghous Bakhsh Bizenjo, a prominent political leader of Pakistan, former Governor of Balochistan and a member of the 1973 Constituent Assembly.

Born in Khuzdar district of Balochistan, Mir Hasil Bizenjo had won the by-election in 1991 from Khuzdar as an independent from National Assembly constituency 205.

He was elected to the National Assembly from NA-205 in 1997 and left the Balochistan National Party in 1998 to join the Balochistan Democratic Party, a group of deviant members.

He joined the new political party, the National Party, in 2003, boycotted the general election in 2008 and was elected senator on a National Party ticket in 2009.

Hasil Bizenjo became president of the National Party in 2014, and was re-elected senator in 2015, becoming federal minister for ports and shipping.

He was also unanimously nominated for the chairmanship of the Senate by the opposition’s anti-government “leadership committee” in 2019.
