Senior Kashmiri leader Syed Ali Gilani announces his separation from Hurriyat Conference

Srinagar: Prominent Kashmiri leader Syed Ali Gilani has resigned from the chairmanship of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference.

According to Kashmiri media, Syed Ali Gilani, the founder of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat and life chairman of All Party Hurriyat Conference, has announced his resignation from the chairmanship in an audio message, but he did not give a reason for his resignation. The 90-year-old leader has been ill for a long time and has become weak due to illness in captivity.

In his audio message, Syed Ali Gilani said that in view of the current situation in Occupied Kashmir, he would resign from his post and informed the leaders of the Hurriyat Conference of this decision.
In his detailed letter, the senior leader also complained that despite the efforts of Hurriyat Conference leaders during his solitary confinement after August 5, he did not keep in touch and did not formulate an effective strategy to repeal Article 370.

Syed Ali Gilani has also been a member of Jamaat-e-Islami Jammu and Kashmir, later founded his own party, Tehreek-e-Hurriyat, and in 1993 joined the All Parties Hurriyat Conference, including his party, which is an alliance of 26 political and social parties in Kashmir. Is.

It may be recalled that Syed Ali Gilani was elected life chairman of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference in 2003 due to his tireless sacrifices, tireless struggle and political acumen in the struggle for independence of Kashmir.
