ISLAMABAD: A notification has been issued to reduce the price of petroleum products by about Rs 12. The price of kerosene was reduced by Rs11.88 per liter, after which the price of kerosene was reduced from Rs47.44 to Rs35.56 per liter and the price of petrol was reduced by Rs7.6 per liter to Rs81. It has come down from 58 paise to 74 rupees 52 paise per liter. The price of diesel has gone up by five paise to Rs 80.15 per liter. Similarly, the price of light diesel oil has been reduced from Rs 47.52 paise to Rs 38.14 paise. The government has issued a notification under which the new prices have been applied from midnight.
It may be recalled that two days ago, OGRA had sent a summary of changes in the prices of petroleum products to the Ministry of Petroleum, according to which it was recommended to reduce the price of petrol by Rs 7.6 and kerosene by Rs 11.88. Besides, it was also recommended to reduce the price of light diesel by Rs 9.37 paise and high speed diesel by 5 paise.
“Petroleum prices lowest in region”
Prime Minister Imran Khan has said in a tweet after the decision to reduce petroleum products that we have reduced the prices of petrol, light diesel and kerosene, after which Pakistan will have the cheapest fuel in South Asia. ۔
