Petrol price reduced by Rs 1.57, diesel by 84 paisa per liter

The government has announced a reduction in the price of petrol by Rs 1. 57 per liter and diesel by 84 paisa per liter.

According to a statement issued by the Finance Ministry, the new price of petrol has been fixed at Rs 102.40 per liter after a reduction of Rs 1.57 per liter.

Similarly, the price of high speed diesel will be reduced by 84 paisa to Rs 103.22 per liter.

The prices of kerosene and light diesel oil have not changed and will remain unchanged, the statement said.

The current price of kerosene will remain at Rs 65.29 per liter while the price of light diesel will remain at Rs 62.86 per liter.

It may be recalled that on October 15, the government had decided to maintain the prices of petroleum products for the rest of the month.

Earlier on September 30, the government had decided to maintain the price of petrol for the next 15 days by rejecting the summary of the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA), but the price of high speed diesel was reduced.

The notification issued by the Finance Ministry said that the price of high speed diesel has been reduced by Rs 2.40 per liter from October 1.
