Abu Dhabi: In the eliminator round of PSL 6, Peshawar Zalmi defeated Karachi Kings by five wickets and knocked them out of the event.
In the first eliminator of the sixth edition of Pakistan Super League in Abu Dhabi, Karachi Kings batted first and scored 175 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs.
In reply, Hazratullah and Kamran Akmal started batting for Peshawar Zalmai. Hazratullah Zazai slammed the ballers. In the fifth over, Kamran Akmal scored 13 runs off the ball of Noor Ahmed and his successor Imam-ul-Haq was bowled by Perera after scoring 11 runs in the tenth over.
In 12 overs, Zalmai was hit when Hazratullah returned to the pavilion, but was caught by Guptill on Perera’s ball. He scored an aggressive 77 off 38 balls, including five sixes and ten fours. He took Zalmai’s score to 103 runs.
Khalid Usman scored 17 runs in 18 overs and Shoaib Malik scored 30 runs in 19 overs. Zalmai needed seven runs in the last over. Sharfin and Roman Powell were on the crease. Sharfin Rutherford equalized with a four. After which a run was required on two balls by which Peshawar Zalmai achieved the target of 176. Roman scored one run and Sharfin scored 17 runs.
In the bowling side of Karachi Kings, Perera took two wickets while Mohammad Amir, Noor Ahmed and Ilyas took one wicket each.

Earlier, Peshawar Zalmi captain Wahab Riaz won the toss and invited the Karachi Kings to bat, while Sharjeel Khan and Babar Azam started the innings. Sharjeel Khan was dismissed for 26 and Martin Capital failed again. He returned to the pavilion without opening an account.
Demonstrating responsibility, Babar Azam scored a half-century, he was dismissed for 53 and Thisarar Perera played an aggressive innings of 37 off 18 balls. Danish Aziz was the guest for 13 runs. Emad Wasim scored 16 runs.
Mohammad Irfan, Wahab Riaz and Ameed Asif took 2.2 wickets each for Peshawar Zalmi.
It should be noted that the losing team will be eliminated from PSL 6, but the winning team will face Islamabad United tomorrow.
