Former national team fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar has said that Mohammad Aamir’s complaint that he was not given opportunities is correct and he should understand that Papa Mickey Arthur will not always be there to protect you.
Speaking on PTV Sports program ‘Game On Hai’, Shoaib Akhtar said that Sharjeel Khan and Fakhr Zaman should open in T20 and both of them can bat aggressively against any team on any field in the world. ۔
He said that if the affairs of Pakistan cricket were in my hands, I would have fed Aamir in the T20 World Cup, along with feeding Shaheen Shah, Hassan and Zahid Mahmood, as well as making Emad and Fahim Ashraf part of the team. ۔
On Aamir’s retirement, Shoaib said that Aamir had a contract with Pakistan cricket and whatever the management, Aamir is bound to play for Pakistan, dealing with management is not easy, you have to play with all kinds of management. ۔
“If I was in management, I would have explained to Aamir that these are problems and as a bowler I have to overcome these problems,” he said.
“Sometimes your days are good and sometimes bad, Amir should understand that Papa Mickey Arthur will not always be there to protect you, sometimes you grow up, you guessed it,” he said. If the management does not like me then I will work harder.
The former fast bowler said that Hafeez also played despite the opposition of the management, Hafeez scored runs, no one came to give him envelopes or money, only by scoring runs, so Aamir should learn from Hafeez.
