Pakistan’s wait is over South Africa gave the green signal for the tour

LAHORE: Despite the cancellation of the home series against England, the South African cricket team will visit Pakistan next month.

Speaking to Correspondent Express at the National Stadium, PCB Media Director Sami Burney said that South Africa has decided in principle to send its cricket team to Pakistan after 12 years. The tour of Pakistan will be as per the schedule. South Africa is scheduled to play 2 Tests and 3 T20 Internationals in Pakistan. The Test series will be part of the inaugural ICC World Test Championship.

Sami Burney said that the whole world is being affected by Kovid 19. In this context, the ODI series between England and South Africa was canceled. Apparently, there is no reason why the South African cricket team did not come to Pakistan. Nothing can be said if the series is postponed, but it is certain that the visiting team will have to follow the QSOPs during the tour of Pakistan.

He said that after the successful tour of Zimbabwe cricket team to Pakistan, efforts have been intensified to ensure that competitions are held at home ground. The way will be open for international cricket.

Responding to a question, the PCB Director Media expressed his full confidence that next year the Pakistan cricket team will return to South Africa, during which 3 ODIs and as many T20 Internationals will be played. The ODI series will be part of the IC Cricket World Cup Super League.
