Pakistan’s Netflix-style online video streaming platform ready for launch

Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry has announced that Pakistan’s first Netflix-style version is about to be launched.

Fawad Chaudhry said in a statement issued on Twitter that Pakistan’s first OTT is going to be launched, (in the style of Netflix) we have solved the technology issue.

Fawad Chaudhry in his statement further said that PEMRA has been asked to prepare guideline on the material, as soon as PEMRA’s guideline is received we will ask private companies to join us and start OTT service.

Keep in mind that many users in Pakistan use the American online streaming site Netflix.

So far, Pakistan does not have its own online streaming site, which is why it is a welcome development to launch Pakistan’s first Netflix-style version.
