The UK introduced a 50 per cent discount on food in August to revive restaurant and cafe activities under the ‘Eat Out, Help People’ scheme.
According to Reuters, the 62 625 million project aims to revive the corona virus-infected restaurant industry.
Under the scheme proposed by Finance Minister Rishi Sink, Londoners will be able to dine at any restaurant at a 50 per cent discount and the facility will be available on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

“Up to 10 discount on food, this is a unique moment, we need to be creative,” said Rishi Singh, Britain’s finance minister.
“This discount can be used indefinitely in August and people can be encouraged to eat and drink not only on weekends but throughout the week,” he said.
This discount does not apply to alcohol.
Rishi Sink also said that the Value Added Tax (VAT) on hospitality and tourism would be reduced to 5%. He said the 20% reduction would be applicable for the next six months.

It should be noted that after 3 months of lockdown in the UK, all the restaurants have been reopened since last week, however, it has been directed to ensure all security measures in this regard.
