Obesity increases the risk of death from corona virus, experts say

Medical experts warn that obese and overweight people have a relatively higher risk of death or serious illness from code 19.

According to Public Health England (PHE), about 63% of adults in the UK are obese, with a body mass index (BMI) of 25 to 29.9 (overweight) or over 30 (obesity), according to Sky News. Is.

According to the PHE report, a person infected with Corona has a BMI of 30 to 35, a 40 percent higher risk of death, while those with a BMI above 40 have a 90 percent higher risk of dying from the virus.

The report also said that being overweight or obese can lead to severe illness in intensive care, with 7.9 percent of patients in intensive care units having a BMI of more than 40.

“It’s clear from the current evidence that being overweight or obese puts you at risk for a number of diseases other than serious illness or death in Code 19,” said Allison Ted Stone, head of PHE.

Earlier, several medical researchers had revealed that people who are overweight or obese are at risk of serious complications or death from the corona virus.

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson is expected to announce a ban on fast food advertisements in the next few days to help people lose weight.

Earlier, he had criticized a move like the sugar tax.

Boris Johnson was also thought to have contracted the corona virus, but has lost weight since recovering from the virus.

It should be noted that scientists still do not know much about the new corona virus and every month new information is coming out regarding this epidemic disease, which stunned the experts.

Recently, a group of scientists claimed that the corona virus is in fact an airborne disease and the World Health Organization should change its recommendations in this regard.

Since the onset of the epidemic, scientists have been emphasizing that the disease has been transmitted to humans through tiny particles emitted by speech or breathing, in addition to coughing or sneezing
