Nawaz Sharif’s medical reports need to be reviewed,Prime Minister Imran Khan

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that Nawaz Sharif’s medical reports need to be reviewed. The meeting of the Federal Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan, lasted for five hours in which the political, economic and political situation of the country and the progress of the upcoming federal budget 2020-21, including the eradication of the locust heart, were reviewed.

The Federal Cabinet was given a detailed briefing on the future course of action and further action by the concerned agencies in the light of the recommendations of the Sugar Inquiry Report.

Addressing the meeting, the Prime Minister said that the purpose of the Sugar Inquiry was to bring to light the reasons and facts which had led to the rise in sugar prices and put unnecessary burden on the people, in the light of this inquiry and the emerging facts. Steps will be taken to rectify the existing shortcomings, for which an inter-ministerial committee will be constituted to review the report from various angles and make recommendations for comprehensive reforms on the existing system, including the effective role of regulators. The purpose of these measures is to ensure that the people are protected from exploitation in the future.

The Cabinet was also given a detailed briefing on the procurement of wheat and it was decided that a high level committee would be constituted to balance the supply and demand of wheat which would formulate recommendations in this regard and make recommendations for improvement in matters related to flour mills.

The Prime Minister directed the Home Secretary to submit the recommendations of the Task Force on Prevention of Smuggling as soon as possible. Fawad Chaudhry, Faisal Wawda and Murad Saeed also called for a forensic audit of the wheat scandal report and brought those responsible to book. Demanded

Federal Minister Fawad Chaudhry said that it seems that Nawaz Sharif went abroad on the basis of false medical reports, the matter of Nawaz Sharif’s medical reports should be investigated.

On the occasion, the Prime Minister said that Nawaz Sharif’s medical reports need to be reviewed. The Prime Minister and the Federal Cabinet agreed to continue the process of accountability.

The Cabinet was also briefed on the PIA plane crash, investigation and identification process. The Prime Minister expressed his heartfelt condolences to the families of those martyred in the PIA passenger plane crash in Karachi.

Cabinet approves release of investigation reports on air accidents During the briefing on Corona in the meeting, the members stressed on the need to increase the health budget. The Cabinet was also apprised of the situation of locust heart in the country and the steps being taken for its prevention.

NDMA officials briefed on the locust attack on crops and the operation against it. The cabinet approved the use of utility stores as part of essential services and allowed the Asian Development Bank to set up an office in Islamabad.

The Cabinet also appointed Ms. Lubna Farooq Malik as Director General Financial Monitoring Unit, Shakeel Ahmed Mangnejo as Chairman Pakistan National Shipping Corporation till December 2020, Masood Nabi as Managing Director Government Holdings (Pvt) Ltd. and Wasim Mukhtar (Additional Secretary Power Division) as Chief. Approving the additional charge of Executive Officer Central Power Purchasing Agency (Guarantee) Limited, he directed the Ministry of Power to complete the process of filling this post permanently within the next three months.

Special Assistant Dr. Sania Nishtar briefed the Prime Minister on the progress made in the distribution of Corona Relief Fund to the beneficiaries. The Planning Minister gave a detailed briefing to the Cabinet on the fiscal sector and economic indicators. With regard to the forthcoming budget, the Prime Minister directed the Ministers to pay special attention to reducing unnecessary expenditure in the Ministries and Government Departments keeping in view the present situation and economic situation.
