Missile and explosive drone strikes by Houthi rebels on Saudi Arabia fail

Riyadh: Saudi Arabia thwarted a major offensive by destroying three missiles and eight drones fired by Houthi rebels in mid-air.

According to Arab media, Houthi rebels fired three missiles from the Yemeni border towards the Saudi capital Riyadh. However, the Saudi air force’s dynamic and light defense system destroyed the missiles by targeting them in the air and saved the country from catastrophe.

Coalition spokesman Colonel Turki al-Maliki said early in the morning that Houthi rebels tried to harm the civilian population with three missiles from the Yemeni city of Saada, but responded in a timely manner and the missile was defused in mid-air.
Col. Turki al-Maliki added that Houthi rebels also carried out eight drone strikes on civilian populations in Jazan and Najran, but coalition forces took immediate action and shot down all three drones.

Clashes between Saudi-led coalition forces and Houthi rebels in Yemen have been raging for four years, but are now intensifying and the rebels are launching missile and drone strikes on Saudi Arabia from the Yemeni border. By repeatedly defusing the airspace, the Saudi air force bravely saved the country from great loss.
