Misbah will have to resign for one Position, chairman PCB

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Ehsan Mani has said that Misbah-ul-Haq will not hold both the posts of head coach and chief selector and will have to resign.

Today, Chairman PCB Ehsan Mani appeared before the Public Accounts Committee in which he answered various questions of the members of the committee.

The meeting of the committee was held under the chairmanship of PML-N leader and chairman Public Accounts Committee Rana Tanveer Hussain in which various issues of Pakistan Cricket Board and Pakistan Super League (PSL) were reviewed.

The special audit report of the first and second editions of Pakistan Super League was also presented in the meeting while the performance of the national team, other issues of the Super League, the situation after Corona including the tour of international teams to Pakistan were also discussed. ۔

Talking to media at Parliament House after the meeting, the PSB chairman said that no one sees that cricket has officially returned to Pakistan after 10 years, while after Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, the Zimbabwean team is also coming to Pakistan. ۔

“Apart from the West Indies, we did not give a single penny to any team to come to Pakistan,” he said.

He said that now cricket activities have resumed in the country, more than 40 international players participated in the Pakistan Super League while 425 foreign players had applied for the league.

He said that talks have been held with Misbah-ul-Haq and he will have to resign from the post of head coach and chief selector.

“We used to have Indian rating companies operating because we did not have trained people but now we have contracts with foreign companies for 3 years to show the matches live,” he said. Will also be trained in 3 years.

He dismissed the notion that many players were unemployed due to the closure of cricket department and said that managers and coaches would be appointed in 100 cities of the country to promote cricket which would create employment opportunities.

Ehsan Mani said that he had told the franchises of Pakistan Super League that the financial model of the league was not effective and there was a need to work in this regard.
