Microsoft introduces a new laptop and 3 tablets

Microsoft has introduced new tablets and laptops in its Surface series.

During one event, the company presented 3 tablets and a laptop.

All of these devices will first go on sale in the United States.

Surface Laptop Studio


It is the new laptop in the company’s Surfacebook series that has been completely redesigned and has the option to convert the laptop into a tablet instead of a removable display, which the company has named Studio Mode.

With a 14.4-inch Pixel Suns display, the laptop features 120 Hz refresh rate and Dolby Vision features.

Its flexible hinge helps convert laptops into tablets and has laptop, stage and studio 3 modes.

In laptop mode, the display works like a normal laptop with a keyboard and a new touchpad with heptic support.

In stage mode, the display changes to an angle designed for gaming, streaming, or presenting slides.

In this mode the keyboard is covered and the new Surface Slim Pan2 can also be used.

The device comes with 2 USB4 ports with Thunderbolt 4 and a Surface Connect charging port and headphone jack.

Thunderbolt support means the laptop can be connected to a multiple 4K display, use high-speed external storage, and convert the device to a full gaming PC via an external GPU enclosure.

The laptop will be powered by Windows 11 operating system with Intel’s 11th generation quad-core processor and Nvidia’s RTX3050 TIGPU.

According to the company, the laptop will be available on October 5, but can now be booked in pre-order and is priced at 00 1,600 (over PKR 269,000).

No major upgrades have been made by Microsoft this time around but a new Wi-Fi only version has been introduced and an ARM based version with cellular connectivity has also been introduced.

The cellular connectivity version has a costume SQ2 processor based on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8CX generation processor.

This processor can provide 5G support but the company has limited it to 4G LTE cellular connectivity.

According to the company, it is the cheapest Surface Pro X tablet ever, while it has improved Windows 11 support for ARM.

The Wi-Fi model is available in pre-order from September 22 and is priced at 99 899 (over PKR 151,000) and will be available from October 5.

The smallest Surface tablet has also been refreshed by Microsoft.

The focus is on enhancing the performance of this 10.5-inch tablet.

Twenty of its models are powered by Intel’s 10 Generation Core i3 processor, and according to the company, its speed will be 60% better than the previous model.

It will be available with 4 to 8 GB RAM and 64, 128 to 256 GB storage options while SD slot is also available.

According to the company, the battery of the tablet will be able to work for 11 hours while the LTE data option is also available.

It can also be booked in pre-order now and will be available on October 5. The model with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage will be available for $ 400 (over PKR 67,000).

Surface Pro 8


Another Microsoft tablet has a 13-inch Pixel Suns display with 120 Hz refresh rate support.

And yes, this tablet is also designed with Windows 11 in mind.

It features Intel’s new 11-generation processor, while the Thunderbolt 4 support is part of the series for the first time, provided via USBBC ports.

The advantages of Thunder Bolt 4 have been mentioned above while the rear camera will be 10 megapixels instead of 8 megapixels and 4K support has also been given.

The front camera will be 5 megapixels and according to the company, this camera will show the best performance in low light.

The quad-core Intel Core i7 will be equipped with 32 GB of RAM and one TB of storage, while the LTE model will have 512 GB of storage, but will also have 128 to 256 GB of storage options.

The company claims that the Surface Pro 8 is twice as fast as the previous model, the Pro 7, with 74% faster graphics performance and 40% better CPU performance.

The company did not specify the battery power but did say that it will be able to work for 16 hours, which is about 6 hours more than the previous model, while it can be charged up to 80% in one hour.

It will also be available for pre-order from September 22 and on October 5, starting at 11 1,100 (over PKR 185,000).
