IPL 2020 is likely to be held in the United Arab Emirates

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 was postponed due to the corona virus, but now it is likely to be held in the UAE between September and November.

According to popular cricket website Cric Info, “the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has indicated that the IPL will be held from September 26 to November 7 and the entire tournament is likely to be played in the United Arab Emirates.”

According to the report, the BCCI will make the final decision after the ICC announces the postponement of the T20 World Cup, which is scheduled in Australia from October 18 to November 15.

The ICC will make the final decision on whether to host the T20 World Cup on July 20.

According to Kirk Info, the BCCI has formally written to the Indian government seeking permission to transfer the IPL to the United Arab Emirates.

The BCCI has also sought permission for the transfer of the tournament as well as the travel of players and other team officials.

The BCCI discussed the transfer of the IPL to the United Arab Emirates in a meeting held yesterday. However, the board is still preferring to play in India, but the number of Code-19 cases in the country is increasing rapidly.

Given the situation created by the corona virus in India, the United Arab Emirates will be the next field of IPI.

It may be recalled that the BCCI had decided to postpone the IPL in April this year after other sports competitions were postponed due to the corona virus.

India is currently the third most affected country in the world by Corona, with 26,000 deaths so far.

On the other hand, UAE Cricket Board Secretary Mubashir Usmani said, “If they choose the UAE for the game, we are ready for full cooperation with the IPL.”

Mubashir Usmani said, “We will provide protocol and other necessary support, including government permission required to host the IPL.”

“We are awaiting written confirmation from the BCCI,” he said.
