In the first ODI, Pakistan defeated West Indies by 5 wickets

Multan: Pakistan defeated West Indies by 5 wickets in the first match of ODI series being played in Multan.

In the first match of the three-match ODI series played at Multan Cricket Stadium, Pakistan achieved the target of 306 runs for the loss of 5 wickets with four balls to spare. Babar Azam scored 103 and Imam-ul-Haq 65 runs.

In pursuit of the target, Pakistan’s first wicket fell at 26 runs when Fakhr Zaman was caught for 11 runs while Imam-ul-Haq added 65 runs to the team’s total score and returned to the pavilion for 129 runs.

Captain Babar Azam played an unbeaten innings of 103 runs and caught the mayor on Joseph’s ball while batsman Muhammad Rizwan added 59 runs to the team’s total and was dismissed.

Shadab Khan’s call did not work and he fell victim to Joseph for just 6 runs, Khushdal Shah came to bat after losing 4 wickets for 256 runs and he played an aggressive innings of 41 runs off 23 balls and gave victory to the national team. Khushdal Shah scored 41 runs while Muhammad Nawaz remained unbeaten on 8.

It should be noted that Kali Andhi had given a big target of 306 runs to the Shaheens for the loss of 8 wickets, including 127 runs of West Indian opener Shy Hope.

For Pakistan, Haris Rauf took 4 wickets, Shaheen Afridi 2 wickets while Muhammad Nawaz and Shadab Khan took one wicket each.

The second match of the three-match ODI series between the two teams will be played on June 10 and the third on June 12.
