Former head coach Mikey Arthur of the national team has dismissed the allegations of All-rounder Mohammad Hafeez regarding the method of selecting players in the squad based on likes and dislikes.

Sargodha-born national team veteran All-rounder Mohammad Hafeez spoke about playing under the supervision of Mikey Arthur, calling him the most powerful coach in the history of Pakistan cricket.

He said in a TV interview yesterday that everything was done by Mikey Arthur, and I admit that when he was a coach, there was a double standard of selection of players on the team and they were chosen on the basis of their dislike.

On the other hand, former head coach of the national team, Mikey Arthur, dismissed Mohammad Hafeez’s allegations in talking to the media, saying he only selected players who were capable of winning matches for the country.

“I just want to say that I chose players whose attitude was professional and they were capable of winning matches for Pakistan,” said Arthur, who also previously coached South Africa and Australia.

According to the South African-born coach who was coaching Sri Lanka at the time, I hated those who were locked in their shells and thought they had done a lot for Pakistan cricket.

It is worth mentioning here that this is not the first time that a cricketer has accused Iqbal of being a coach during the coaching period of Mike Arthur.

Despite the pile of runs in domestic cricket, Kamran Akmal was not given a chance during the Mackey Arthur era, which was also targeted by the media.

Kamran Akmal said in an interview that I do not know about the new team management, but in the old management, the dislike was very much dominant and he did not honor the players who scored in domestic cricket.
