Google Photos free storage service ending announced soon

The company has announced the removal of a major feature for users of Google Photos.

From June 1, 2021, Google Photos is changing the free account storage policy for photos that users will not like at all.

So far, the data stored on Google Photos is free to store, but from next year users will have to subscribe to Google One for more data.

Now with Google Account 15 GB online storage is provided for Gmail, Drive etc., which stores emails and files.

But from June 1, 2021, docs, sheets, slides, as well as photos and videos uploaded to Google Photos will become part of the same storage.

And it’s really a big blow to users because now Google Photos can store unlimited photos and videos for free (photos must be 16 megapixels and videos must be HD).

But from next year, every new photo or video will take up 15 GB of free storage.

Needless to say, the more people take videos and photos these days, the more free storage will last.

According to Google, 8% of its users can take at least 3 years to replenish 15GB of storage, but 20% can replenish it in a very short time.

The good news is that before June 1, 2021, photos and videos uploaded to Google Photos will not be counted in the 15 GB storage.

Google has also announced that if a user has not used a Gmail, Drive or Photos account for 2 years, the company may delete the content there.

According to Google, the purpose of eliminating this free service is to meet the growing demand while providing the best storage experience for everyone.
