Uttarakhand: In India, the Himalayan glacier suddenly erupted and fell into the river, causing a terrible flood that swept away nearby houses.
According to Indian media, a catastrophic accident occurred when a glacier suddenly melted and fell in Tapwon, Uttarakhand. Many houses were destroyed.
A state of emergency was declared in the district and the administration issued instructions through loudspeakers to evacuate the citizens immediately. The water level in the river has risen to a dangerous level and the danger has increased from Chamoli to Haridwar.
Meanwhile, Uttarakhand Chief Secretary Om Prakash said more than 180 people were feared dead in the floods, of which only 14 bodies have been recovered so far. However, 170 people are still missing, including 150 laborers. Who are working on a power project nearby.
