Karachi: Pakistani performers were chosen for the Turkish serial Salahuddin Ayyubi, however actress Shahira Jalil claims that the work was not awarded.
In an interview, actress Shahira Jalil stated that 60 performers were chosen from 6000 Pakistani actors who were interviewed for the Turkish drama Salahuddin Ayubi, which was co-produced by private production companies in Turkey and Pakistan.
Shahira went on to say that other well-known performers, like Ayesha Umar, Ashna Shah, Alizeh Shah, and Arsalan Naseer, had all received golden tickets, but none of them had received calls for the role.
The actress expressed her happiness at being placed with experienced performers and mentioned that a WhatsApp group had been set up for the chosen players. However, she regretted not knowing until recently what had happened to the Pakistani actors who had been given golden tickets.
It is a loss for Pakistan that Salahuddin Ayyubi does not feature a Pakistani actor. There was not even a glimpse of a Pakistani in the drama’s teaser.
Salahuddin Ayubi, a Turkish drama, is produced by actors Adnan Siddiqui and Humayun Saeed.
Shahira Jalil claims that nepotism exists in the entertainment world but that no one is aware of it.
The casting couch is a common practice in the business, but the new girls are wise and don’t fall for tricks from others, even directors.
