Facebook has decided to take the popular video conferencing app Zoom by surprise, introducing a new feature in Messenger that will allow multiple people to be part of a video chat, even if most of them are not social media site users.
Facebook has dubbed this feature Messenger Room, which allows up to 50 people to join a group video chat.
If there is no known Facebook user, it will be possible to share the video chat link with such people.

The company also plans to make this feature part of its other messaging apps, such as Instagram Director and WhatsApp.
The new Corona virus epidemic has led to a huge increase in video calling rates as billions of people are confined to their homes.
Facebook’s messaging services also saw a significant increase in the number of people making video calls, which is why this new feature has been introduced.
The number of people in group audio or video calls in WhatsApp is also being increased to 8.
Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg said Friday that the new tool is part of Facebook’s efforts to provide users with the opportunity to connect with each other via video.

“It’s not just about calling anyone, it’s about building blocks of a private social platform that can be used for many purposes,” said Mark Zuckerberg.
According to Facebook, more than 700 million users make daily audio and video calls on Facebook Messenger and WhatsApp, and in some countries the call rate has doubled during the Corona virus epidemic.
Similarly, the rate of group video calls has increased more than 10 times in some countries.
Facebook assures that it does not listen to users’ calls and that people have control over privacy.
To use this new tool you need to click on the video icon on Facebook Messenger, you will be able to control who can see this room and you can lock or unlock it.

If a room is unlocked, anyone with a link can become a part of it and share it with others.
A room in newsfeeds, groups and events can be shared with Facebook friends.
Making room can evict any guest, and people can report group video chats to violations of Facebook rules.
