KARACHI: Member National Assembly Dr Amir Liaquat Hussain has passed away due to ill health.
Leading TV host and National Assembly member Dr Amir Liaquat Hussain has died. He was found dead in his home.
According to reports, the door of Amir Liaquat Hussain’s room was locked which was being knocked by the employees of the house for a long time. Later, the door was forcibly opened and Amir Liaquat Hussain was found dead. He was rushed to a hospital where his death was confirmed.
An autopsy will be conducted, police sources said
Doctors said he was brought to the hospital in a dead condition, while police said an autopsy would be conducted to determine the cause of death. Evidence is currently being gathered by sealing his home.
Amir Liaqat’s employee said that he had chest pain since last night. We told him to take him to the hospital at night but he forbade us to do so. With the help of which Amir Liaqat was transferred to the hospital.
National Assembly session adjourned
The National Assembly session was adjourned on his death. Speaker National Assembly Raja Pervez Ashraf has said that sad news has been received that Member Assembly Amir Liaquat has passed away, the proceedings of the House should be stopped immediately. He adjourned the National Assembly session till 5 pm tomorrow due to the death of Amir Liaquat.
Former President Asif Ali Zardari has expressed sorrow over the demise of Amir Liaquat and condolences to his family and said that the news of the demise of Dr Amir Liaquat is very sad. Asif Zardari has also prayed for the forgiveness and high ranks of Dr Amir Liaquat.
