6 Corona cases have come to light in the Pakistani quarantine team in New Zealand. On the other hand, the sources said that all the 6 players who came for the positive test, remember that the Pakistani squad reached Christchurch from Auckland after arriving in New Zealand and camped in the vicinity of Lincoln University in the vicinity. According to the SOPs, all the individuals were confined to separate rooms for 3 days and samples were also taken for the test. Out of them, 6 tested positive. They were now transferred to quarantine separately from the rest of the squad.

On the other hand, the New Zealand Cricket Board has said that until the investigation of the Ministry of Health is completed and all the members of the guest squad are cleared, they will not be able to train, they will have to be confined to rooms.

The press release also said that the test results were disappointing for the visiting squad, but it also indicates that the system developed by the government in New Zealand to prevent the corona virus is working effectively. He said that he wanted to hold international competitions in the country but would continue to extend all possible cooperation to his ministry to ensure the health and safety of the people.

It is worth mentioning here that before the departure of the Pakistani squad to New Zealand, all the players and coaching staff underwent four corona tests. All the results were negative. The medical team of PCB continued to monitor the opener, also conducted corona test. When the result was negative, they were instructed to go to Mardan and stay at home. Now, the virus has been confirmed in 6 players.

On the other hand, with the corona test coming positive, allegations of violation of protocols laid down by the local government by the visiting cricketers to stop the spread of the virus also caused a stir.

According to sources, at least two instances of SOPZ being ignored came to light within the first 12 hours of the team’s arrival in New Zealand. Later, some of them opened the doors of their rooms and started talking to each other, which was also recorded by CCTV cameras.

Representatives of the New Zealand Cricket Board and the government contacted PCB chief executive Wasim Khan at 5am Pakistan time on Thursday morning and expressed reservations in a detailed discussion on this sensitive issue.

According to New Zealand media, a final warning was issued to the visiting squad by the Ministry of Health. Any further violation could jeopardize the tour. The squad will now have to complete a 14-day period of isolation.
