Flight operations in several countries have also been suspended due to the rapid spread of the Corona virus worldwide, leading to the cast of Pakistan’s soon-to-be-released film, Ishrat Maid in China.
The shooting for the film ‘Ishrat Maid in China’ began when the World Health Organization did not even declare the Corona virus a global pandemic.
Shimon Abbas, who played the lead role in the film, told Dawn that ‘half of the film’s team arrived in Thailand at the end of February this year;
He added that “the cast of the film includes Hassan Shahriar Yaseen, Mani, Mustafa Chaudhry, Ali Kazmi and Sanam Saeed, though Sara Loren and I became part of the film’s cast shortly after.”
According to Simon Abbasi, “When we arrived in Thailand, things started to get tougher. First, the virus spread to China, after which it engulfed the Western countries and then spread to Pakistan.” ۔
He said that Mani, Hussain Shahriar, Ali Kazmi and Mustafa Chaudhry returned to Pakistan but the flight of the rest of the cast was on March 25, but by then the airports were closed.
According to the actor, he is now waiting for April 4 so that he can return to Pakistan.
Actress Sanam Saeed also confirmed to Dawn that she was safe in Thailand with the rest of the film team.
Says Simon Abbasi, “We are close to a jungle 4 hours drive from Bangkok but this place is quite safe”.
The actor said that even though the cast of the film was present in Thailand, he was subjected to severe criticism.
