Corona Virus: The Cannes Film Festival is unlikely to be in its original form this year

The film festival, Cannes which honors the world’s largest film festival, could not be held this year in its original form due to the corona virus.

Festival organizers delayed the event because of the Corona virus last month, saying it is expected to be held in June or July this year.

The British Broadcasting BBC reports that the organizers of the Cannes Festival have now issued another statement stating that it will no longer be possible for them to hold the festival in June or July.

It is important to note that lockdown is still in force in France, while the government has announced further expansion of the lockdown this week.

This year’s Cannes Film Festival was set to be celebrated in May, but was postponed due to the rapid spread of the Corona virus worldwide.

When the statement to postpone the festival came out, Cannes President Pierce Lescure was quite optimistic that the event would be held this year.

Speaking to the media at the time, he said he hoped that by the end of March, the Corona virus would be substantially broken and everyone would breathe a sigh of relief in April.

However, on Monday, French President Emmanuel Macron announced that he was extending Lockdown until May 11 and that no gatherings would be allowed until July.

Later, the Cannes Administration said in its statement that after a lockdown by the French president to protect against the Corona virus, he was unable to make a decision on whether or not to delay the festival further.

Anatamiya admitted that he had previously announced the May Festival to be held in June or July, but it is difficult to predict with current circumstances whether the festival will take place at the newly announced time.

According to the administration it is possible that the date of holding the Cannes Festival may need to be changed once again and it may be that if the festival is held late, it will not be the same every year, this time the festival is short or Can be limited.
