Corona virus: India agrees to export malaria drug after Trump threatens

After threatening US President Donald Trump, India has agreed to export malaria drugs to the United States to help treat the Corona virus.

Hydroxy chloroquine is an old and inexpensive drug used for malaria patients, but it has been somewhat helpful in treating the corona virus.

Due to the increasing demand and positive results of this drug, the United States requested India to export the drug, which India was reluctant to buy because the drug was purchased in India by a large number of people. It has a shortage.

A few hours after India banned the export of the drug, US President Donald Trump said last week that he had sought help from Prime Minister Narendra Modi to export a US-ordered hydroxy chloroquine drug.

Trump had said that he would be surprised if he did not export drugs to us because the US and India have had very good trade relations for many years and India has benefited a lot from the US in trade.

He had stated clearly that if India does not export medicine, it does not matter, but then it will have consequences.

According to a statement issued by the Indian Foreign Ministry on Tuesday, India has decided to export malaria drug hydroxy chloroquine to the United States.

“It has been decided that India will sell paracetamol and hydroxy chloroquine to the neighboring countries, depending on our capabilities,” said Foreign Ministry spokesman Anurag Seri Vastava.

“We will provide these medicines to countries that are particularly affected by the disease,” he said.

While this drug is being considered effective for the treatment of Corona virus patients, scientists and experts say further tests will be needed to make it effective against Corona.

Some doctors and experts warn that the use of unverified drugs can be dangerous, even Trump’s own experts are not in favor of this experience.

Dr. Patrice Harris, president of the American Medical Association, said she would not personally recommend the drug to patients with coronary virus, with the risk of serious adverse effects far outweighing the drug.

It is to be noted that the United States is one of the countries most affected by the virus, so far more than 2.5 million people have been infected with the virus and more than 10,000 have been killed.

The virus, which originated from China, has killed nearly 75,000 people worldwide and infected more than 135,000 people worldwide.
