London: We have known for a long time that copper surfaces have the ability to kill viruses and bacteria. If the corona virus is placed on steel or plastic, it can remain active for three days, but copper kills it in four hours.
That’s why scientists say people should consider applying copper coating to their door handles, stair railings, shopping trolleys and other touching areas, as Corona may stay with us longer. This was stated by William Kewell, a renowned British scientist who specializes in microbiology at the University of Southampton.
Earlier, the usefulness of copper has been proven in many ways. However, William says, we need to use copper in public places, including hospitals, buses, airports and educational institutions, instead of steel. According to him, copper has special antiviral and antibacterial properties.
According to scientists, when the corona virus sits on the surface of copper, metal ions (electrically charged atoms) attack the virus, tearing its protective surface (lipid membrane) and the virus suffers and dies. In this way, its DNA is also destroyed.
As a result, Polish bus poles and doors have been coated with copper, while Chile and Brazil are also coating copper in public places. He advised the world to ensure the use of copper.
It should be noted that Professor William has been working on the virus and bactericidal properties of copper for the last 20 years.
