Pakistan’s first original web series ‘Sparrows’ was shut down for Pakistani fans a few days ago after it was released on Indian streaming channel Z5 in August, which has angered fans and showbiz personalities.
This week, the web series ‘Sparrows’ was shut down from the entertainment platform Z5 for Pakistani fans without any explanation.
According to a report by the British news agency ‘Reuters’, there was no response from Zee Five when contacted regarding the closure of the web series for Pakistani fans.

On the other hand, the Pakistan Telecommunications Authority (PTA) has said that it had contacted Z5 after receiving complaints about the web series.

The PTA official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said: “We cannot block the content ourselves but we could have written to the platform about what we have done.
Actress Nimrah Bacha, on the other hand, who has played the role of the killer in the witches, says that the cast is very upset with this move.
“This is a project we are very proud of, the story we have told and the way we have told it,” he said.

Actress Nimrah Bacha said that this is a very Pakistani story.
Pakistani film critic Umair Alvi said that Zee Five had taken a “huge risk” by choosing “Sparrows” as Pakistan’s first web series because the show was miles away from the content that viewers were accustomed to.

Two days ago, Asim Abbasi, the director of ‘Chariles’, had said in his series of tweets that his web series had been shut down in Pakistan.
He lamented the closure of “Sparrows” in tweets, saying that “surprisingly, the web series that is being praised around the world has been shut down in his own country.”

Asim Abbasi had termed the closure of ‘Charles’ in Pakistan as not only detrimental to filmmakers, actors and artists, but also to women, the enlightened class and platforms such as streaming sites for financial betterment. He also said that it is harmful for the creative people who resort to it.
Asim Abbasi had said in his tweets that many artists and actors of this country are creating something new together but their hard work is being wasted.
He said that artists in the country are also threatened because of their work and they are taught ethics.
Asim Abbasi had written that the closure of ‘Charils’ in Pakistan is not only harmful for artists and actors but it is also a cause of heartache for women and this process also proves that disgusting people here Is ruled and their words are valued.
It may be recalled that ‘Charidels’ was released online on Zee Five’s Life Channel on August 11 this year.
