Can Corona virus target you with currency notes?

The coronavirus is usually spread by direct contact with the particles that come out of the mouth during an infected person’s cough or sneeze.

But coronavirus can be transmitted to up to 19 people by touching objects contaminated with viral particles through the nose, mouth or eyes.

So the question is, can commonly used currency notes transmit the corona virus from one person to another?

The answer is that it is possible, and a study by Australia’s most important naval security laboratory found that the new corona virus can remain contagious for weeks on the surface of currency notes, glass and other common items.

The study highlighted the dangers posed to people by paper notes, touch screen devices and other common items.

Experts from the Australian Center for Daisy Pre-Prednisone have shown that the Novel Corona virus can survive up to 28 days at room temperature or 2 degrees Celsius on smooth surfaces such as mobile phone screens and plastic items, while the flu virus can survive up to 17 days. Protects himself on these items.

The study added that the virus does not survive a single day at a temperature of 40 degrees Celsius on the surface of some items.

Research published in the medical journal Virology has added to the evidence that the new corona virus survives longer in cold weather and may therefore be more difficult to control in winter than in summer.

Researchers also say that research can help predict the spread and prevention of epidemics in a more authoritative way.

“The results show that the new corona virus remains contagious on the surface of various items for a long time, which is why measures such as hand washing and cleaning of items need to be re-emphasized,” he said.

He said the virus could survive longer on porous or smooth surfaces than on porous items such as cotton.

During the study, the corona virus was tested on the surface of various items in the same amount as was found in the samples of infected patients, and then isolated for a month.

In this study, objects were kept in the dark to determine the life of the virus without the effects of ultraviolet light, as research has shown that direct sunlight immediately neutralizes the virus.

The surface of the items was then tested at different temperatures to see how long the virus remained on them.

The results showed that the virus survives at 5.96 days at 20 degrees Celsius on stainless steel, 1.74 days at 30 degrees Celsius and 4.86 hours at 40 degrees Celsius.

On paper notes, the virus survives at 9.13 days at 20 degrees Celsius, 4.32 days at 30 degrees Celsius and 5.39 hours at 40 degrees Celsius.

In contrast, the virus lasts for 6.32 days at 20 degrees Celsius on glass, 1.45 days at 30 degrees Celsius and 6.55 hours.

At 20 5. C on cotton, the virus dies quickly at 5.57 days, at 30 1. C at 1.65 days and at 40 C.

The life of the virus on plastic notes is 9.13 days, 4.32 days and 5.39 hours respectively.

According to researchers, it remains to be determined how much of the virus is present on the surface of the goods, but it is important to know how long the virus can be present on different items in high-risk areas. I can prevent it.

Research has shown that the long-term presence of the virus on touch screen devices such as glass, bank ATMs, airport check-in caskets is a wake-up call because these items are not cleaned often, which increases the risk of virus transmission. ۔

According to the researchers, the survival of the corona virus on currency notes is more important than that of the flu virus, as the constant circulation of currency notes and the risk of its transmission to the public is obvious.

It should be noted that before declaring the Corona virus a global epidemic, China had started cleaning up its paper notes because there were still fears that the notes could spread the virus to others.

The United States and South Korea also quarantined banknotes.

This was also done in Pakistan in March and the State Bank of Pakistan had directed the banks to clean, disinfect, seal and quarantine all the currency received from hospitals and clinics and circulate it. Stop.
