WASHINGTON: Democratic presidential winner Joe Biden has been sworn in as the 46th president of the United States, the oldest president in the United States, and the first female vice president of the United States, Kamala Harris, has been sworn in.
According to the World News Agency, newly elected President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris have taken the oath of office in a solemn ceremony. The swearing-in ceremony was on high alert in Washington where 25,000 troops were deployed while only 1,000 people were invited to attend.

Most of the participants in the function were members of Congress and other prominent personalities. Prominent guests included Biden’s wife, Jill Biden, Douglas Amhoff, husband of Vice President Camilla Harris, former President Barack Obama, his wife, former President George W. Bush and his wife, former President Bill Clinton and his wife.

Before the ceremony, singer Lady Gaga sang the national anthem, after which Chief Justice John Robert administered the oath of office to Joe Biden. After which he signed the presidential documents and delivered an enthusiastic speech.

US First Lady Vice President Kamala Harris has been sworn in by Supreme Court Associate Justice Sonia Sutmeyer.

Before Biden was sworn in, singer Jennifer Lopez and singer Garth Brooks performed musical performances, and at the end of the ceremony, Sylvester Beyman, pastor of Upskopal Church, led the prayers.
Contrary to US democratic tradition, President Trump attended the ceremony, which saw Joe Biden and Harris bid farewell to outgoing Vice President Mike Pence and his wife, Karen Pence.
In keeping with American democratic tradition, President Joe Biden, accompanied by Vice President Harris, drove to the military memorial in a special vehicle, after which he was given a presidential squad upon his return to the White House.
Parades will be held in all US states on the occasion of the swearing-in ceremony. The parade will highlight the accomplishments of prominent American figures and highlight American culture.
