Anurag Kashyap’s two ex-wives reject Payal Ghosh’s sexual harassment allegations

The two ex-wives of renowned Indian filmmaker Anurag Kashyap have defended their ex-husband, dismissing allegations of sexual harassment leveled at the filmmaker by actress Payal Ghosh.

Actress Payal Ghosh in her short tweet on September 19 mentioned filmmaker Anurag Kashyap and claimed that the filmmaker tried to force her.

In his short tweet, Payal Ghosh also mentioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi and demanded that he take notice of the incident.


The actress had demanded the Prime Minister to take notice and arrest the filmmaker and tell the people that the devil is hiding behind a creative person.

After being tweeted by Pyle Ghosh, the hashtag (Me Too) started trending again on Twitter in India on September 19 and 20 and many people expressed surprise at Payal Ghosh’s revelations.

Later, Anurag Kashyap, in a series of tweets in Hindi, denied Ghosh’s allegations and sent a message to her that she was also polluting other women due to her stubbornness.

After which both the ex-wives of the filmmaker have also denied the allegations of Payal Ghosh.

Anurag Kashyap first married Indian film editor Aarti Bajaj in 2003, which lasted for six years and they have a daughter.

The filmmaker was married to actress Kalki Kochlin for the second time in 2011 and the two separated four years later in 2015.

According to the Hindustan Times, Anurag Kashyap’s first ex-wife Aarti Bajaj defended him and issued a statement in this regard.

Aarti Bajaj wrote in an Instagram post that Anurag Kashyap, you are a rock star, as you empower women, continue to do so and create safe havens for all of them.

she said that there is no honesty left in the world and the world is full of useless people.

Aarti Bajaj said that this world would be better if all people, who spend their energy in hating others, used it positively.

Anurag Kashyap’s first wife wrote that this is the worst stunt ever, first I got angry and then I laughed.

Aarti Bajaj wrote that I am sad that you have to go through all this, this is the level of these people, you always stay on top and keep raising your voice, we love you.

On the other hand, Kalki Kochlein, the second ex-wife of the filmmaker, also denied the allegations against Anurag Kashyap in a message released on the social networking site Twitter and wrote that trolls will troll.

“Anurag, don’t bother yourself with this social media circus, you have fought for the freedom of women in your scripts, you have defended their integrity in your life with your profession,” she wrote in a statement.

“I am a witness to the fact that you considered me equal in your personal and professional life and stood up for my integrity even after the divorce,” he added.

“You supported me even when I felt insecure at work, even before we got together,” he added.

“It’s a strange time where everyone hurts each other and makes false claims. It’s dangerous and disgusting,” he added.

On the other hand, Anurag Kashyap’s lawyer has also issued a statement in which the allegations of actressPayal Ghosh have been rejected.

“My client Anurag Kashyap is deeply saddened by the recent allegations of sexual harassment against him,” the statement said.

It said the allegations were completely false, malicious and dishonest.

Anurag Kashyap’s lawyer wrote that it is unfortunate that a social movement is so important that there are interests involved in the Me Too movement and it has been limited to the tool of immorality.

False accusations of this nature, he added, weaken the movement, which is doing irreparable damage to the suffering and trauma of the real victims of sexual harassment and exploitation.

“I have informed my client about their rights under the law and they intend to fully comply with them,” he said.
