KABUL / WASHINGTON: The most wanted al-Qaeda leader, Mohsen al-Morsi, has been killed during a special operation in the Afghan province of Ghazni.

According to a tweet from Afghanistan’s National Directorate of Security (NDS), a special operation was carried out in the Afghan province of Ghazni, in which al-Qaeda leader Mohsen al-Morsi was killed. Mohsen al-Morsi, considered a key al-Qaeda leader, was listed as one of the most wanted terrorists by the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
Chris Miller, head of the US National Counterterrorism Center, also confirmed Morsi’s death, saying in a statement that his death was a major blow to al-Qaeda.

Who is Mohsen Al Morsi?
Mohsen al-Morsi is an Egyptian citizen and is also known as Hassan Abdel Rauf. Mohsen al-Morsi was considered a key al-Qaeda leader, and the United States has accused him of aiding foreign terrorist organizations and plotting to assassinate American citizens.
