A goldsmith in the Indian state of Gujarat has started selling diamond masks. According to the report of the Indian website Midday, the price of a mask laden with diamonds has been set at Rs 1.5 lakh to Rs 4.5 lakh.
According to the report, the state government has made it mandatory to wear masks due to corona virus and citizens are wearing masks of different colors and styles.
However, diamond masks are available at a jewelery shop for Rs 1.5 lakh to Rs 4 lakh.
Shop owner Deepak Choksi said that the masks are made from cloth as per the instructions of the government, American diamonds are being used along with gold in the masks and its price is Rs 1.5 lakh.
He said that the second mask is made of white gold and real diamonds which cost Rs. 4 lakh.

“We asked our designers to create the mask and the customer bought it, after which we made the mask extensively because people will need it in the coming days,” he said.

Shankar Kurhade, a businessman from the western city of Pune, said the mask used 60 grams (2 ounces) of gold and took eight days to make.
He said he had spent 4,000 on a gold mask.
The Indian businessman said he was not sure if the mask would protect him from the virus, but he was taking other precautions
