Accused’ named in motorway rape case arrested,Has denied the charges against him

LAHORE – According to dawnnews Waqar ul Hassan, a suspect named by the Punjab government in the rape case of a woman on the Sialkot Motorway, has denied the charges against him.

It may be recalled that the IG Punjab had said during a press conference with Punjab Chief Minister Usman Bazdar that Waqar ul Hassan was a co-accused with Abid in the incident. All the records of the accused are available .

Model Town Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) Deputy Superintendent of Police Hasnain Haider raided Sheikhupura to arrest Waqar ul Hassan, where a friend assured him he would make an arrest soon.

Waqar al-Hassan and his friend later approached police and made an arrest in Model Town.

Hasnain Haider said that the accused Waqar Al-Hassan was arrested in CIA Model Town and at the same time denied involvement in the incident of rape with a woman on the motorway.

He said that the accused has denied all the charges against him.

The police officer said that the accused Waqar Al Hassan has a spare parts shop and also a motorcycle mechanic.

In addition, a source said that the Punjab Forensic Agency was contacted for DNA test of the accused while the statement of the accused will be presented to the higher authorities for recording.

Waqar-ul-Hassan was declared the main accused in the motorway rape case by the government and IG Punjab and a day later, Waqar-ul-Hassan presented his own arrest and also denied the allegations against him.

A press conference between the IG Punjab and the Punjab Chief Minister yesterday has further complicated the situation in the wake of Waqar ul Hassan’s self arrest and denial of the allegations.
