A bomb blast near the Turkish-controlled territory of Syria has killed at least 18 people and injured 75 others

Aleppo: A truck loaded with explosives exploded at a bus station in the Turkish-administered Al-Bab region of Syria, killing 18 people and injuring 75 others.

According to the International News Agency, a truck exploded at a bus station in the Al-Bab area, injuring about 100 people who were taken to a nearby hospital where 18 people were confirmed dead.

The hospital administration says 13 of the injured are in critical condition, leading to fears of an increase in casualties. The dead and wounded included women and children.

No group has claimed responsibility for the blast, but anti-Turkish extremist groups are active in the area and have carried out similar attacks in the past. The Turkish administration has blamed YPG for the blast.

It should be noted that Al-Bab was liberated from the control of ISIS by Turkish troops in 2017 and since then the area has been under the control of the Turkish government where the Turkish-backed local party is in control.
