62% of drinking water in urban areas and 83% in rural areas of Pakistan is contaminated, Expert

Karachi: Experts say that 62% of drinking water provided in urban areas and 83% in rural areas is contaminated. That is why there is an extraordinary burden of sick people on our hospitals drinking contaminated water.

Polluted water causes more deaths worldwide than violence and accidents. Contaminated water causes three times more deaths among children under the age of 15. Unfortunately, Pakistan is also on the list of countries affected by contaminated water. Where polluted water is causing death especially of children.

Even in urban areas of Pakistan, including rural areas, 62 to 82% of drinking water is extremely dangerous to human health, including large amounts of bacteria, arsenic, nitrate and other hazardous metals. It is common to find water lines in drinking water lines.

Contaminated water in the NICH auditorium organized by Tech Greens Research and Development Services Pvt. Ltd. in collaboration with the National Institute of Child Health (NICH) and the Asian Union Forum A seminar was organized on preventive measures aimed at raising awareness on the prevention of diseases caused by contaminated water including diarrhea, cholera, typhoid and hepatitis as well as these factors. To identify and prevent the diseases that are causing these diseases.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Jamal, Chief Guest, Sindh Institute of Child Health and Professor, said that even in developed countries, tap water is used as clean drinking water. “Pollution-free but not safe for drinking water in our homes,” he said. “We consider the water available in plastic bottles to be safe. However, the use of plastic has its disadvantages.” Tap water needs to be protected.

Haseeb Asghar, Head, Tech Greens Research & Development Services Pvt. Ltd., said on the occasion that clean drinking water is a basic human right. Experts have been invited to this seminar for possible solutions to the problem and suggestions have been sought from experts on how to solve this problem.
