KARACHI: Google and global data analytics company Kantar have released ‘Journey to Digital’ research on Pakistan’s online behavior. According to this study, 54% of the population of Pakistan is using the Internet, half of the users use the Internet daily. 76% of Pakistanis belong to three major cities namely Karachi, Lahore, Rawalpindi and Islamabad.
E-commerce has boosted the economy, with more than a third of people shopping online once. A quarter of consumers increased their purchases during the lockdown due to Code 19. 66% of internet users live in urban areas while 47% are from rural areas. The majority of non-Internet users do not have access to the Internet.
The unavailability of a device that works on the Internet and the lack of a reliable Internet connection is also a major obstacle. According to a new study, in 2021, at present, 54% of the population in Pakistan use the Internet, of which about half use the Internet daily.
